Fernando Arquines, aka pr0teus, began playing tenor saxophone in 6th grade, quickly becoming adept at
translating thought into sound. Throughout junior-high and high school, he earned many improvisation
awards at regional jazz festivals. He first became acquainted with "techno/electronica" in 1997, and
soon took to create some music of his own.
After high school, with nothing but a computer, he began writing music with "tracker programs" -- first
Octamed on the Amiga 2000; then Impulse Tracker, on a 486 PC. In the summer of 1998, he first heard
psytrance, and became hooked. He joined Innerverse/Ultrabeat, an elite group of psychedelic trance
"trackers" from all over the world, and made several online releases.
In late 2003, his first official single was released by
EOR on the compilation, "10 Year Grok." He
recently signed with Sundance Records, an offshoot of Demon Tea
Records. With releases planned for 2004, and a debut solo album currently in the works for 2005, momentum
is picking up and the next protean shift is beginning to take form...
